Former WNYer vies for Giffords' AZ seat

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A political newcomer with ties to western New York wants to take Gabrielle Giffords' seat in Congress.

28-year-old Nomiki Konst announced her candidacy in Arizona. She's the daughter of former Erie County legislator Kathy Konst. The Democrat is running for Congressional District 2, which is a new district that covers much of the area represented by Giffords.
