NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) — So far, Niagara Falls Police say they're still investigating the case of a brawl at the Seneca Niagara Casino involving Senator Mark Grisanti and that no charges have been filed yet.
Grisanti is encouraging police to press charges against two men allegedly involved in a scuffle with the state senator earlier this month. Grisanti's wife suffered a concussion during the melee and the senator walked away with minor injuries. The incident was recorded on cell phone video, but the casino also has surveillance video that's being reviewed.
Tuesday, President of the Seneca Nation of Indians Robert Odawi Porter spoke about the incident for the first time on camera.
"Everything that's happening is going to be in accordance with the procedures that are established. It's currently in the hands of law enforcement, our Gaming Corporation works with law enforcement on a regular basis. This is not the first time these kind of events happened, and so they're just going to follow their procedures and take it to its logical course," assured Porter.
He would not say whether the Seneca Gaming Corporation would release its casino surveillance video of the incident to the public.
