CLINT EASTWOOD CAN'T ESCAPE EMPTY CHAIRS

LOS ANGELES (AP) — What has four legs, but can't walk, yet still follows Clint Eastwood around? An empty chair. Three weeks after he used an empty chair to represent President Obama at the Republican National convention, Eastwood walked past 16 empty chairs on the green carpet for his new movie "Trouble With the Curve." They were unfilled bleacher seats. When they were pointed out to him, Eastwood obviously got the joke. He laughed and said "Oh my God, yes."

CLINT EASTWOOD - WHAT HE MEANT TO SAY ....

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Clint Eastwood wanted to urge voters not to see politicians as superstars when he spoke at the Republican National Convention, but all anyone remembers is the empty chair. Eastwood says he wants voters to take "the idolizing factor" out of the election and just look at the candidates' record and views. But, because he ad-libbed the speech, he admits it came out in "a roundabout way, which took too much time than they would've liked." As for the empty chair representing President Obama, Eastwood says he got the idea "5 seconds" before he went on stage. Eastwood commented while promoting his movie "Trouble With the Curve," which opens on Friday.
