Vice President Joe Biden to return to NC next week

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to return to North Carolina next week for another campaign visit.

President Barack Obama's re-election campaign said Wednesday that Biden would come to the state next Tuesday. The campaign confirmed later he would travel to Charlotte and Asheville. More details will be released later.

Biden has visited the state several times as vice president, most recently to attend the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte three weeks ago. He also visited Durham last month, when he blasted Republican vice-presidential nominee Paul Ryan on his proposals for entitlement programs such as Medicare and Social Security.

First lady Michelle Obama spoke in Durham and Greenville last week as the Obama campaign seeks to win a state it narrowly won over Republican John McCain four years ago.
