GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) — A local leader says New York State has lost out on $35 million from drivers who have gone through EZ Pass lanes without paying the proper toll.
At the Grand Island Bridge Thursday morning, Assemblyman Sean Ryan was focusing on his plan to crack down on drivers who evade tolls. In a release from Ryan, it says he wants the New York State Thruway Authority to abandon plans for a toll hike and focus on improving efficiency.
The current proposed hike is for a 45 percent toll hike, according to Ryan.
