TORONTO, ONT. (WIVB) — The Mayor of Toronto, Rob Ford has been booted out of office but the order won’t take effect for 14 days.
Ford was found guilty of conflict of interest, in violation of the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act. Although the judge, Justice Charles Hackland had the option of banning Ford from running again for up to seven years, he will allow him to run again.
In September hearings were held to grill Ford over his conduct involving using official letterhead and other city resources to solicit donations from people lobbying for his football foundation.
