BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) — Mayor Byron Brown will be in Albany for the State of the State message by Governor Andrew Cuomo. But apparently the trip will serve the mayor two purposes as he is reportedly holding a fundraising event to fatten his re-election campaign kitty.
Mayor Brown will host an evening fundraiser at the Fort Orange Club Tuesday night and another fundraiser back in Buffalo on Thursday. Tickets to the Albany event are from $250 to $1,000.
Mayor Brown is expected to announce his intentions to run for this third term as mayor sometime in February. One potential opponent is Bernie Tolbert, former special agent-in-charge of the Buffalo Office of the FBI.
