BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Job cuts or higher taxes? The Erie County Executive is sounding the alarm ahead of his new budget plan.
The budget from Mark Poloncarz calls for either slashing jobs or raising taxes in order to balance the books over the next four years. Services like road patrols, libraries and parks might also face cuts.
The county executive says he has no choice after county lawmakers rejected his tax hike proposal, which would have seen a 3.4 percent property tax increase.
