Libertarian Party

Website

Founded in 1971, more than 225,000 voters are registered Libertarians in 30 states. As a party, Libertarians favor fewer regulations, a non-interventionist policy on markets and foreign policy and strong civil liberties.

Based on their guiding principle of a "mutual respect for rights," Libertarians believe "all individuals have the right to exercise sole dominion over their own lives, and have the right to live in whatever manner they choose, so long as they do not forcibly interfere with the equal right of others to live in whatever manner they choose."

Libertarians want to reduce or eliminate many government roles and departments.
